A global think tank

Shaping the future of the human workforce

BIHD is a global think tank with a mission to empower the next generation of the global workforce by certifying mastery in human-centric professions, where we aim to bridge the gap between technological advancement and human necessity, ensuring that care and empathy remain the cornerstone of society in an automated age.

About the Institute

A global think tank for the age of intelligent machines

BIHD is a global think tank dedicated to shaping the future of the human workforce. As artificial intelligence and robotics redraw the boundaries of work, we focus on the capabilities that remain distinctly human: empathy, judgment, presence, and care. Our work rests on a simple conviction.

The more capable machines become, the more valuable deeply human work will be.

Education

Preparing professionals for the roles technology cannot replace

Our online professional certificate programs prepare learners for careers across the care economy.

Note: BIHD programs are non-degree professional certificate programs. They are not university degree programs and do not confer an academic degree.

Education

We educate the professionals who do this work.

Some work cannot be delegated to an algorithm. It depends on trust, attention, and the ability to understand another person's needs. BIHD trains people for these roles.

Each program combines current research with practical, applied training. Graduates leave with more than technical competence. They develop the relational skills that define excellent care: listening closely, responding with compassion, and earning the trust of the people and families they serve.

Caring for a child, supporting an aging parent, and guiding a person through difficulty are not tasks awaiting automation. They are the foundation of a healthy society and one of the fastest-growing sources of meaningful employment in the world.

People today. Stronger tomorrow.

Research

Building the evidence engine for the care economy

Care work has long been undervalued because it has been under-measured. BIHD is working to change that through three connected initiatives.

BIHD pursues this mission in two ways. We educate the professionals who do this work, and we build the evidence that shows what their work is worth. Together, these efforts help governments, employers, and families invest with confidence in the human workforce.

Longitudinal record

A longitudinal record of what training achieves

We are building what we intend to be the world's largest longitudinal record of how care-work training translates into real outcomes for professionals, for the people they serve, and for the communities around them.

Framework

The Care Quotient (CQ)

We are pioneering the Care Quotient, a framework for defining and measuring the human capabilities at the heart of quality care. CQ gives educators, employers, and policymakers a shared language for a skill set that has never had one.

Flagship annual index

The Human Premium Index (HPI)

Our flagship annual index tracks how societies value and invest in human-centered work. It is designed to serve as the global benchmark for the care economy and to cultivate what we call "the human premium": the lasting value of work that only people can do.
