Rights-based, person-centered support across autism, intellectual and developmental disability, physical disability, complex communication needs and co-occurring conditions.

Program highlights

Six-week curriculum

  1. Semana 1: Disability, identity and rights
  2. Semana 2: Communication, relationship, families
  3. Semana 3: Physical support, daily living, health
  4. Semana 4: Understanding and supporting behavior
  5. Semana 5: Autism, complex needs, transition to adult life
  6. Semana 6: Ethics, safeguarding, advocacy, sustainability

After your course

Continue your journey as a BIHD Graduate

Complete the program and meet the certification requirements to become eligible for BIHD Graduate status. Once approved, you can build your professional profile and offer sessions or services through the BIHD Graduate network.

  2. Become a BIHD GraduateAfter certification, you can progress to Graduate status following BIHD approval.
  3. Offer professional sessionsApproved Graduates can create a professional profile and, where available, offer sessions or services to customers through BIHD.

BIHD Marketplace

Your relationship with BIHD does not end at graduation

For many institutions, support stops on graduation day, leaving qualified graduates to find their own way into work. BIHD continues: approved Graduates move into a professional matching marketplace, where they can be connected with customers and begin working as certified professionals, where available.
